Why Choose Me?

Choosing a therapist is deeply personal.

Alongside my professional training as an integrative counsellor, I also bring lived experience as a queer and neurodivergent person. I understand how powerful it can be to sit with someone who appreciates that identity isn't separate from mental health—it shapes how we experience the world.

My aim isn't to tell you who you should be.

It's to help you reconnect with who you've always been beneath expectations, fear, and self-doubt.

You are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and compassion as we explore whatever has brought you to therapy.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Counselling in Swansea and Across the UK

I offer integrative counselling for LGBTQIA+ adults in Swansea and throughout the UK via secure online therapy. My practice is built on the belief that therapy should be a space where you never have to justify your identity, educate your therapist, or minimise who you are to feel accepted.

As a queer counsellor myself, I understand that living outside of society’s expectations can bring unique challenges. Whether you’re exploring your identity, navigating relationships, recovering from discrimination or trauma, or simply looking for a therapist who “gets it,” I aim to provide a warm, collaborative, and genuinely affirming therapeutic space.

What Does LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy Mean?

LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy goes beyond simply accepting diverse identities. It actively celebrates and validates them.

Rather than viewing sexual orientation or gender identity as something to explain or overcome, affirming therapy recognises that many difficulties arise from living in a world that isn’t always accepting or safe.

Together, we’ll explore your experiences with curiosity, compassion, and respect. Therapy is tailored to you—not assumptions about what it means to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, non-binary, asexual, intersex, or any other identity within the LGBTQIA+ community.

You deserve therapy where your identity is understood as part of your whole self, not treated as a problem to solve.

How I Work

I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to create something that fits your individual needs.

At the heart of my work is person-centred therapy, providing a relationship built on empathy, acceptance, and authenticity. Alongside this, I may integrate elements of:

  • Creative therapy and expressive interventions
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Psychoeducation
  • Existential therapy
  • Attachment-informed approaches
  • Trauma-informed practice

Every client is different, so our work together will be shaped around your experiences, goals, and the way you naturally process emotions.

A SPACE WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN YOURSELF

Many LGBTQIA+ people have experienced healthcare professionals who misunderstood, dismissed, or unintentionally invalidated their experiences.

Therapy should feel different.

My aim is to create a space where your pronouns are respected, your relationships are recognised, your identity isn't questioned, and your experiences are met with genuine curiosity rather than assumptions.

Whether you're cisgender, transgender, non-binary, genderfluid, intersex, asexual, bisexual, lesbian, gay, queer, pansexual, questioning, or anywhere else within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, you'll be welcomed exactly as you are.
