A bit more about me...
My name may suggest otherwise, but I was born and raised right here in the UK. Creativity has been woven through my whole life, always — I come from a long line of female artists, and I grew up surrounded by making, expression and imagination.
Alongside counselling, I’m also an artist, a jeweller, a painter, a photographer; I’ve trained as both a fabricator and a boatbuilder, and there’s something about working with my hands and making something tangible that I find completely absorbing.
I dreamed of becoming a therapist for as long as I can remember, and the human mind has always fascinated me — psychology, criminology, the whole messy complexity of human behaviour — and all of that still feeds directly into how I work today.
Most of my adult life has been spent living by the sea, and it’s still one of the biggest sources of grounding for me. I surf, I swim, I scuba dive, I’m in the ocean any chance I get. Before I trained as a counsellor, I worked all over the world in marine conservation as a divemaster, and Madagascar and the Philippines will always hold a special place in my heart, from the extended time I spent there.
I’m proudly queer, I’m neurodivergent, and I belong to a few minority groups that aren’t particularly visible, and because of that I genuinely know what it feels like to sit on the outside of things, to navigate difference and identity and belonging. I want to offer a space that’s warm, accepting and collaborative and deeply, unmistakably human.
People tend to describe me as empathic, gentle, grounded, easy to talk to. I can be quietly reflective, sure, but I bring real care, curiosity and compassion into every bit of work I do.
I trained at Iron Mill College for my Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling, and that’s where I really came to appreciate integrative practice — the idea that therapy gets shaped around the person, not the other way round.
My approach sits in relational, person-centred values first, and I draw from a range of therapeutic theories and creative approaches depending on what you actually need.
My areas of interest and specialism include:
- Anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties
- LGBTQIA+ affirmative counselling
- Neurobiology
- Self-harm
- Neurodivergence
- Domestic abuse and domestic violence
- Trauma
- Creative therapeutic work, including: dreams, Gestalt techniques, metaphor, and artwork exploration
